The project

For the stand of a laboratory diagnostics company at an international congress in Rome, we turned the floor into a video game. Two walkable LED surfaces measuring 1.5 by 2.5 metres, divided into a grid of squares, react to the steps of anyone walking on them.

The game opens with a few questions about the visitor's laboratory: how many days a year and how many hours a day they work. You answer by jumping onto the right square. Then the game begins: collect as many water drops as possible, avoid obstacles, pick up batteries and use them for the bonus. At the end come the score, the leaderboard and an estimate of how much the laboratory could save, while also becoming more sustainable.

The two floors were mirrored on two vertical monitors, so the audience around the stand could follow the matches. The stand also included a photobooth with AI-powered background removal and an LED wall playing a looping video which, when touched on the tablet, gave way to the navigable website.

We developed the game as a web app, handled the installation of the floors and looked after the stand throughout the congress.
